From Dave: "The picture that Ethan sent is following our French Church Service, although the sermon was translated into English for us. The Pastor is Nobeji- and he's going to have a team shirt for us by the time we leave. It as refreshing and encouraging. At the end of the service, Pastor Randy was able to talk with Nobeji and give him a French MacArthur Bible. I took some pictures but can't send them yet.
The trip home from church was crowded so we had 4guys up on the roof of the van. Fun trip for them and not odd in this culture as the waved to 3 local guys on the roof of another van. Currenty, we are singing songs after lunch. The song now being sung is "I come to the Garden Alone". Its great to hear men sing together and its a great enouragment to Ted and Diane. Ted is just soaking it all in. (He claims that he can't sing). But we are all praising God.
At 2pm today (now its 1:20) we'll go into the market (open air) and do some touring. This should be interesting. We hope to visit with Sonja's mother (Jerald and I and Adam Drake- missionary) sometime this week. Its quite a drive- a couple of hours near the country of Burkina Faso- but worth it as Adam has to scout out that area. I'll be showing her the video of Sonja and hope to make one to send back to Sonja.
God is so good. One of the Psalms that was shared by 2 of us was Psa. 133 and demonstrating "how good it is for us to dwell together". And yes, it is good, because God is good. "
I love reading these updates! It's so exciting! I love that Pastor Randy was able to give Nobeji a French Bible! And I love that they'll be able to visit Sonja's mother! I'm sure that will be such a treat for her!
