When Pastor Dave and I were contemplating what to call this blog we thought about how we wanted it to have a life after the Togo trip. We wanted it to be something that our church could look to, be encouraged by, and find out just what is happening as we "serve as senders" here in this little town called Meridian, Idaho. So here are a few more things that is happening....
1) We sent our books over to Montana Avenue Baptist Church yesterday with Pastor Geoff Williams. Ben Horton will be speaking there tonight so Geoff will pass them over to him to go back to Oregon then off to the Philippines. Praise God for so many good books for their library. Thank you for your generosity!
2) Our own Kierstin Gentry is going with Wipe Every Tear to the Philippines in June. Please be praying for her as she still needs about $1,000 to go on the trip. I'll be featuring her in an upcoming blog, but in the meantime pray for her and talk to her at church about the trip and what it is all about. I know that it will encourage her!
3) We have a great opportunity to help the McKeeths as they work with the Spanish speaking people here in Idaho. There are many opportunities to serve at the VBS or to help support it with supplies, etc. If you want more information please contact me. I'll also be posting more about this VBS in an upcoming blog.
4) We serve the evening meal at the Boise Rescue Mission once a month. Check out the time and upcoming dates in the bulletins at church.
and last, but definitely not least...
5) We have Sunday morning prayer time at church. You can come during that time to lift up these ministries as well as the many local ministries here in our valley.
