Let's get the scoop on what's going on with the Togo Team

Summary of trip up to Mango:

The team stayed the night in Lome.  It was pretty hot, but the hotel that they stayed in had air conditioning.

Early in the morning the next day (really early for us!) they drove to Mango.  Pastor Dave said that they basically drove through the entire country.

"It is scenic and green.  There are a lot of mango trees.  (Dave kept repeating that fact so I guess there are really A LOT of mango trees).  There are a lot of people out and about and a lot of motorcycles.  It's amazing!  It's very tropical.  What really grabbed my attention is that there is no diversity.  There is a mosque every 5-10 miles on the main hwy.

The mission compound is amazing!  We will go to the hospital work site tomorrow.

The Weinburgs are excited to host us and actually we are the first team that they don't have to necessarily be with the entire time as now they have their own place.  This break from the teams will be good for their relationship.  Before they had been staying in the guest house, but now since more housing has been built the Weinburgs were able to move leaving more room in the guest house.  This enabled our team to be at 14.

We  saw numerous truck breakdowns and rollovers the entire trip from the south on the only highway in the nation that runs south and north.  I sat in the front middle of the missions van on the bump and almost hit the ceiling.  It was awesome and yet tiring .  The team looks good and the letters are a real hit.  After dinner we will gather for our daily team time and have mail call and times of reflecting/sharing and maybe worship"  -Pastor Dave

The team is missing everyone, but oh so encouraged by the notes.    Thank you all so much for writing the notes!

"...miss you all, but we are having a great time.  So what we did today....well we drove all day! lol we left the hotel around 9 local time and drove all the way to Mango from Lome.  The roads are unlike anything I have every seen!  The pot holes had pot holes.  Entire chunks of road were missing.  But we made it to Mango!" -Michael

Tim and Esther serving in Mango.  It is their last term in Africa.
"Talking with Tim Neufield is amazing! "-Pastor Dave

I don't have any pictures yet, but these websites will give you plenty to look at to check out what is happening in Mango, Togo and how our team is playing a part in it.
